It is rare to find an artist who has achieved the impeccable credentials and uncompromising artistry of Dmitri Berlinsky. As a soloist and chamber musician, Mr. Berlinsky's intention is to bring music's spirit to his audience, reaching levels above mere entertainment.

Dmitri Berlinsky arrived on the international scene as the youngest winner in the history of the Paganini International Violin Competition in Genoa, Italy. This victory led to his performance on Nicolo Paganini's own Guarneri del Gesú instrument, a privilege shared by only a handful of artists in history. Subsequent triumphs at the Montreal International Violin Competition (Grand Prize), the International Tchaikovsky Competition, the Queen Elizabeth Competition in Brussels, and the Young Concert Artists in New York led to appearances with major orchestras in Europe, Russia, the Far East, North and South America.

Berlinsky has performed in such major venues as Carnegie and Avery Fisher Halls in New York, Kennedy Center in Washington DC, Tokyo's Suntory Hall, Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, Mariinsky Concert Hall, Leipzig Gewandhaus, Berlin Philharmonic Hall, Munich Herkulessaal, Shanghai Theater, Palais des Beaux Arts in Brussels, Bonn Beethoven Hall, Le Place des Arts in Montreal and Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires, among others.

His extensive performance schedule has taken him to the Aspen Music Festival, the Mostly Mozart Festival, the Casals Festival in Puerto Rico , the Prague Spring Festival, the Newport Music Festival, and the Settimane Musicale in Stresa, Italy, as well as appearances at the Ambassador Foundation in Pasadena, the Fiddle Fest at Alice Tully Hall, and the 92nd Street Y.

Recently he performed with Lorin Maazel at the Castleton Festival, the London Philharmonic, St. Petersburg Philharmonic, Russian National Orchestra with Mikhail Pletnev at the Arts Square Festival in St. Petersburg, Prague Radio Symphony at the Budapest Spring Festival, The Orchestra of Americas on European Tour. He directed and performed with “International Chambers Soloists” at the Fontana Arts Festival, San Francisco Conservatory, New York and Washington, DC.

Highlights of this season include appearances as a soloist in Berlin Philharmonic Hall, Vienna Konzerthaus, Frankfurt Alte Opera House, Leipzig Gewandhaus, Munich Philharmonic on 20 concerts “ Paganini Night” European Tour with Russian Philharmonic of St. Petersburg and Juri Gilbo.

Recent highlights include performances with the St. Petersburg Philharmonic, Sinfonia Toronto, Montréal Symphony, New York Chamber Symphony, Leipzig Radio Orchestra, Belgian National Orchestra, Quebec, Utah, Virginia, Miami, San Antonio, Seoul Philharmonic, New Jersey Philharmonic, Staatsphilharmonie Rheinlandā€Pfalz, Weimar Staatskapelle, Gent Opera Orchestra, Berlin Staatskapelle, Orchestra Sinfonia Siciliana, UNAM Symphony in Mexico City, I Musici de Montreal in Canada,Prague Chamber Orchestra, as well as appearances at the festivals in Italy, Belgium, Germany, Scandinavia, Taiwan and Korea.

Mr. Berlinsky has been recipient of many awards including SONY, Juilliard, YCA and Bagby Foundations. His playing was featured in the Emmy-Award documentary “Life on Jupiter” and “New York Canvas.”

Mr.Berlinsky is the founder and Artistic Director of the chamberorchestra “International Chamber Soloists.” Attracting the highest caliber instrumentalists from around the world, Dmitri Berlinsky has created a superb ensemble of dynamic and fiercely talented musicians. Just after its formation, the International Chamber Soloists opened the 15th International Credomatic Music Festival in San José, Costa Rica, were in-residence at the Southampton Arts Festival in New York, and performed in such distinguished venues as the Wharton Center and the San Francisco Conservatory. Recent ICS engagements include performances in New York and Los Angeles, in Canada in Toronto and Barrie, Ontario, appearances in Florida, Maryland, Virginia, Washington, DC, Kansas, Michigan, and a tour of Colorado, Iowa, Minnesota, New Mexico, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin.

In high demand as a teacher Mr. Berlinsky has taught and given Master Classes in Europe, Asia, Canada and in US at the Chautauqua Festival, Summit Music Festival in New York, Menuhin School in London, Festival Internacional de Campos do Jordão in Brazil, Shanghai Conservatory, Dankook University in Seoul, National Taiwan Normal University, Instrumenta Verano in Mexico, University of South California in Los Angeles, Eastman School of Music, Manhattan School of Music in New York, Temple University in Philadelphia, University of Montreal, DePaul and Roosevelt University in Chicago, and UNT in Texas.

Mr. Berlinsky is Artist Teacher and professor of violin at the Michigan State University College of Music. Berlinsky's students have won important international competitions such as the Tchaikovsky, Menuhin, Tibor Varga, Juilliard, William Byrd and have assumed positions in orchestras including the Boston Symphony Orchestra.

This year Mr. Berlinsky has been invited to serve on the jury of several prestigious competitions including Premio Paganini International Competition in Genoa, Italy, Washington International String Competition, Young Concerts Artists auditions in New York City, Astral Auditions in Philadelphia and Leopold Auer in St. Petersburg.

Born in St. Petersburg into a family of musicians, Mr. Berlinsky began studying the violin with his father. At a very early age he appeared as soloist with the St. Petersburg Symphony and the Moscow Philharmonic. He studied at the Music School for Gifted Children with Lev Ivaschenko, Boris Sergeev, Mikhail Bezverkhny and Boris Gutnikov. Later he attended the Moscow Conservatory studying under Victor Tretiakov, Evgeniya Chugaeva and Naum Latinsky. After graduation he was invited to work with Dorothy DeLay and Masao Kawasaki at the Juilliard School.

For several years Mr. Berlinsky performed on the "Yusupov" Stradivarius violin from Moscow State Collection - the same instrument David Oistrakh and Leonid Kogan played.

Mr. Berlinsky now performs on Carlo Ferdinand Landolfi violin made in 1759 and Jean-Pascal Nehr bow made in 2017.
